摘要

Abstract

Conditioned medium transfer is a commonly used experimental means to carry out research about intercellular signal transmission.In the process of research on radiation induced bystander effects,it was found that conditioned me-dium harvested from unirradiated cells could induce DNA damage in recipient cells.The aim of this study is to investi-gate the source of DNA damage.Through evaluating the levels of reactive oxygen species and DNA damage of cells and the cell viability,it was found that after treated with conditioned medium,the levels of reactive oxygen species of cells were up-regulated,the cell viability was reduced and the DNA damage level was raised.These results suggested that compare to completely control cells,conditioned medium could influence the levels of reactive oxygen species of recipient cells.Therefore,the effect of conditioned medium to cells must be considered seriously in the studies using conditioned medium transfer,especially those involved reactive oxygen species and DNA damage.
