Predictive Effect of Burnout and Coping Styles on Mental Health in Primary School Teachers

摘要

Abstract

Objective:To explore the relationship between primary school teachers'burnout and coping style and mental health.Methods:252 primary school teachers completed burnout questionnaire , simple coping styles and Symptom Checklist 90 ( SCL-90 );The results were compared with the national norm. Results:①Primary teachers'total SCL-90 score,scores of somatization ,obsessive compulsive ,depres-sion,anxiety were higher than the national norm;②Mental health and occupational burnout was correla-ted(r=0.56,P<0.01);Score of SCL -90 was related with positive coping style and negative coping style(r=-0.40,0.24,P<0.01);③ There was a significantly predictive effect of occupational burnout and coping style on mental health ,the regression equation was:y=61.97 +0.41z-0.29xp;Path analy-sis showed that burnout directly affect mental health ,positive coping indirectly affect mental health.Con-clusion:Primary school teachers'mental health is poor ,and it can be adjusted by positive coping.
