Abstract
In order to follow the latest development trend of global road ecology and know about the progress of East Asian neighbors in the field, China Academy of Transportation Sciences (hereafter termed CATS) organized a delegation to attend the Sub Forum and Asia Round Table Session about road ecology in the session of the Fifth International Wildlife Management Congress (hereafter termed IWMC2015) held in Hokkaido in Japan from 26th July to 1st August. During this congress, CATS delega⁃tion carried out comprehensive and intensive academic exchange and discussion with road ecologists from many countries and regions, such as Canada, Germany, Korea, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. Fur⁃thermore, CATS delegation introduced the up-to-date research results on road wildlife ecology in Chang⁃bai Mountain. After the congress, all the attendance visited several demonstration projects, such as Doto Expressway, Obihiro-Hiroo Expressway, National Road 235 and National Road 236. By attending this congress, CATS delegation found that road wildlife ecology has been the important research content of road ecology, and has been attached importance to by East Asian countries widely. However, there were a lot of difficulties still existing in this field. From the long run, China will play an important role in road ecology development in Asia.关键词
