Abstract
The w orld oil price show s a rising trend over recent years. A ll over the w orld, dem and for petroleum as a source ofenergy and petroleum is a kind ofunrenew able energy.Therefore,som e nationalgovern-m entsform ulate som e energy policiesin response to the substantialconsum ption ofpetroleum .This paperchooses C hina and the U SA as representatives ofthe developing countries and the developed countries to conductsurveys abouttheirenergy policies.Firstofall,the policies on strengthening internationalcooperation betw een C hina and othercountries on energy exploration and developing renew able energy in C hina are evaluated.Then the policies on developing renew able energy and im proving the efficiency ofusing energy resources in the U SA are evaluated. Finally,itconcludesthatthe effectsofconducting these energy policiescan reduce the dependence on petroleum .关键词
