Abstract

Roadway driven along goaf is a key method for improving coal resource recovery. In order to further understand the surrounding rock control technology at a roadway driven along goaf, an experimental study has been conducted at 12203 working face in Zaoquan coal mine. The rational narrow coal pillar width is determined as 6m wide by using the method of theoretical calculation and numerical simulation. Based on the big and small structure theory, the key approach for maintaining surrounding rock stability at roadway driven along goaf is to keep the coordination between big and small structures while to maintain the small structure stability is fundamental. According to bolting surrounding strength reinforcement theory, the combination of supports of cable, mess, anchor with high strength and high pretension has been applied. In addition, the grouting at narrow pillar wall has been used to strengthen the support. The industrial case study demonstrates that the surrounding rock deformation can be effectively controlled, and the surrounding strata stability at roadway can be achieved by using the support technology developed.
