Abstract
Objective To compare the effect of intraperitoneal perfusion hyperthermic chemotherapy ( HIPEC) and FOLFOX chemotherapy on the expression of Th1 and Th2 cytokine profiles and Th1/Th2 imbalance, and evaluate the efficacy and safety of these two methods. Methods 60 cases of advanced gastric cancer were included and they were divided into combination therapy group ( n = 31 ) and chemotherapy group ( n=29 ) . The patients in these two groups were respectively applied to IPHC combined with FOLFOX treatment and FOLFOX treatment only. The peripheral blood was collected and the expression of Th1 and Th2 cytokine profiles and Th1/Th2 ratio were evaluated by flow cytometry. The short-term effect, patient survival and adverse reactions were also compared. Results Combination therapy exhibited a significantly improvement on Th1 and Th2 cytokine profiles and Th1/Th2 ratio when compared to chemotherapy group. The RR and DCR was significantly higher in combination therapy group than chemotherapy group. Moreover, a significantly increased survival was found in combination therapy group while no difference was observed between these two groups. Conclusion HIPEC combined with FOLFOX treatment can significantly improve the expression of Th1 and Th2 cytokine profiles and Th1/Th2 ratio, and combination therapy exhibits a higher efficacy and survival rate, which might represent a superior therapy for the patients with advanced gastric cancer.关键词
