Abstract
Cognitive linguistics holds that metaphor is a basic cognitive activity in humans′ daily life ,and that spatial metaphor plays an important role in our cognition and many concepts are constructed through spatial metaphor .The article , based on the collection and synthesis of spatial metaphors from English and Chinese ,tentatively probes into the cognitive and distributive patterns between the two languages .As a result ,we can dig out the experiential philosophical fundamental and respective cultural idiosyncrasies as well as their underlying profound motivations .关键词
