Abstract
As an key term and hot topic of cognitive linguistics at present time ,metonymy ,which also exists in poetic lan‐guage ,is regarded as one of the important cognitive and thinking mode .This paper aims to analyse metonymy operation in Chinese ancient poems and put forward its English translation strategies from the metonymy theory of CL ,claiming that it is important for translators to understand correctly and reproduce its really meaning in target poems to achieve the communica‐tive purpose of poetry translation .关键词
