摘要

Abstract

There is higher and higher risk of short-term voltage instability in modern electric power grid such as that of fast voltage collapse and delayed voltage recovery. Introducing the related basic concepts of short-term voltage stability, this paper discusses the modelling issue for the instability and the dynamic VAR compensation for its mitigation. Simulation studies are carried out with a small test system for demonstrating the above issues.
