Abstract
Objective To analyze the relationship between echogenic intracardiac foci (EIF) and down syndrome. Methods Independent literature review by two authors for those literatures meeting the inclusion criteria in CNKI, Wangfang Data and Pubmed was conducted and the first author name, publication time and OR or RR were abstracted respectively. Stata 11.0 was used for calculating the pooled ORs (95% CI) as well as the publication bias test. Results Compared with normal fetus, the odds ratio of EIF for fetus with down syndrome was 7.31 and 95% CI was 5.55~9.63, however, for fetus with isolated EIF the odds ratio is not significant (OR=1.56, 95% CI=0.81~3.01). Conclusion For EIF fetus with other risk factors of down syndrome, it is better to carry out amniocentesis as soon as possible to confirm whether down syndrome exist, but for isolated EIF there is no diagnostic value for down syndrome.关键词
