On the Attributes of Mode
摘要
Abstract
Multimodal text study is one of the foci of present discourse studies .This paper analyzes the attributes of the mode which is one basic concept for multimodal studies .A mode has social and cultural attributes .It originates out of social needs , and its use in communication is influenced by social factors .Besides, a mode also has the fol-lowing attributes:it has a material carrier , can convey meanings and possesses a grammar .The analysis in this pa-per can contribute to the development of multimodal discourse studies .关键词
