珠三角地区人口分布时空格局及其变化特征
Spatio-Temporal Pattern and Variation Characteristics of Population Distribution at County Level in the Pearl River Delta

Abstract
The Pearl River Delta (PRD) is one of the regions with fastest economic development in China. The process of population concentration and decentralization in this region has been being focused by researchers. In this study, based on the population census data in the PRD from 1982 to 2010, we analyzed the growth and reduction of population, the concentration level of population and stability of population so as to investigate the change of spatial pattern of the population’s concentration and decentralization. The results showed that:(1) The growth rate of population from 1982 to 2010 in the PRD was 215.61%, which far exceeded the growth rate averaged over the whole country;(2) The population increased more significantly in the middle and east parts of PRD;(3) The population agglomerating level in the PRD was greater than that in the whole country. The city of Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Dongguan had become the cluster centers in PRD; (4) More and more floating population moved into PRD, especially in the middle and east parts, from 1982 to 2010. The increasing population and agglomerating level of population in the study region were mainly due to this influx. However, the rate of the influx in PRD slowed down in the past decade.关键词
