Abstract
Objective:To evaluate clinical effect of treatment of type C fracture of distal humerus with double plates through bilateralis of tri-ceps brachii approach..Method:From January 2009 to January 2012,18 patients with type C fracture of distal humerus, including 12 males and 6 females, were treated with surgical reduction and internal fixation with double plates .The mean age of the patients was 36 years (18 -55 years).According to AO/ASIF classification, there were 8 of type C1 ,6 of type C2, 4 of type C3.The follow-up period ranged from 12 to 22 months with a mean of 15 months.The clinical results were assessed according to the Cassebaum evaluation system .Results:According to the Cassebaum elbow score standard, 12 were excellent,3 were good, 2 were fair and 1 was poor and the satisfactory rate was 83.3%.One occurred skin flap necrosis.No screw sliding, dislodging or fixation failure was found during follow-up.Conclusion:In treatment of type C fracture of distal humerus, double plates through bilateralis of triceps brachii approach not only maintain sufficient exposure with reliable fixation , but also assure the safety of the extension of elbow installment .The coordination with early function exercise , can restore the elbow joint function to the greatest.关键词
