摘要
Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the result of rehabilitation on motor and functional improvement in spinal tuberculosis .Methods:Prospective case study .Data were collected from 47 spinal tuberculosis patients with spinal cord injury rehabilitated over 6 months of peri-od after spinal decompression and fusion ( Rehabilitation Group ) ,which is controlled by 50 spinal tuberculosis patients not receiving post-operative rehabilitation ( Control Group ) .The main outcome measures were motor and functional development of the patients evaluated during rehabilitation .Functional assessment was made according to Modified Barthel Index ( MBI) , and motor examination was made ac-cording to American Spinal Injury Association ( ASIA) .Results:The rehabilitation program was performed in Rehabilitation Group during 6 month of postoperative periods .Muscle-strengthening exercises on necessary localization such as pectoral , abdominal , lower extremi-ties;truncal and sacrospinal extensors were started for the rehabilitation .The self-care and mobility categories of the MBI of Control Group were 14.8%severely dependent and 10.6%independent,while that of Rehabilitation Group were 4.2%severely dependent and 70.2%independent at the end of the rehabilitation program .The motor score for the lower limbs and the MBI scores for activities of daily living (ADL) and mobility improved significantly after postoperative rehabilitation (P <0.001) .Conclusion:Rehabilitation program will improve the life quality of postoperative patients with spinal tuberculosis .关键词
