摘要

Abstract

  Landform of basin is a major factor which has impact on rainfall-runoff process. The study was conducted in a basin in Suide city, Shaanxi Province, which has two tributaries with different cross-sec⁃tions of V-shape and U-shape,respectively. Statistic analysis of observed data and physics-based hydrologi⁃cal model simulation are adopted to investigate the impact of cross-sectional shapes of channel on runoff and sediment generation. The results show that the runoff in V-shape channel is more significant than U-shape,and the flow peaks of both shapes are affected by initial soil water content and saturated permea⁃bility coefficient. Rainfall pattern and initial underground water table also influence runoff in channels of the two cross-sectional shapes,and the U-shape is more sensitive to them.
