Abstract

Duncan-Chang E-B model can reflect the relationship of stress and deformation of rockfill materi-als under different confining pressures, therefore it has been widely applied in the numerical calculation of stress and deformation of the concrete faced rockfill dam. Based on the orthogonal test method, the con-crete faced rockfill dam is taken as examples in this paper to conduct the sensitivity analysis of Dun-can-Chang E-B model parameters, and study the sensitivity of various parameters to the vertical settlement displacement of the dam and the horizontal displacement of upstream and downstream. The results of the study show that among the Duncan-Chang E-B model parameters,the sensitivity of Kb,φ0 and K are rela-tively large on the vertical displacement of the dam;φ0, K and Rf have a relatively appreciable influence on the horizontal displacement of upstream;Kb,φ0 and K have a relatively great influence on the horizon-tal displacement of downstream;the value of model parameters have the most significant effect on the hori-zontal displacement of upstream;the sensitivity of m,Δφ and n have a relatively small influence on the re-sults of dam deformation. The research methods and results of this paper can provide a reference for select-ing the Duncan-Chang E-B model parameters of concrete faced rockfill dam.
