Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy of Vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) for deep infection after thorac-olumbar posterior internal fixation. Methods From January 2008 to December 2010, 12 patients with deep infection after thoracolumbar posterior internal fixation were treated, all of them underwent combined debridement with implant retained, vacuum sealing drainage and intravenous antibiotic therapy, then the wound was closed. Results All the patients were treated by VSD for one to three times before the wound closure, all the patients were followed up for 9 to 36 months and all the cases were cured. Conclusion For the patients with early-onset deep infections after thoracolumbar posterior internal fixation, the application of sensitive antibiotics, thorough debridement combined with vacuum sealing drainage can effectively control the infection, and conducive to wound healing, but whether the implant retained still need further research.关键词
