Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy of treatment results of Mason type-Ⅱand type-Ⅲradial head fractures in adolescent with absorbable rods. Methods From June 2008 to April 2012, 9 patients with Mason type-Ⅱand type-Ⅲradial head fractures were treated with open reduction and internal fixation using absorbable rods. The functional exercise began at two weeks after operation.The patients were regular followed-up, X-ray was reviewed at certain times. Functional assessment was carried out according to Broberg and Morrey elbow scale. Results This group of patients were followed between 3~12 months after operation. According to Broberg and Morrey elbow scale, the results were rated as 7 excellent, 2 good. Conclusions Using absorbable rods is simple and effective to treat radial head fractures in adolescent. It is easy to do early mobilization for elbow joint. It can eliminate the need of a second operation.关键词
