Abstract
Polypropylene copolymer samples were characterized by means of FTIR. Based on the FTIR spectra,a standard curve for determining the ethylene contents in the polypropylene c opolymers were estab lished. On the basis of the standard curvilinear equations,a rapid measuring system for t he ethylene contents in the polypropylene copolymers was developed by means of the LabVIEW software. This measuring system mainly contains a front-panel and a diagram program. The most important data processing modules in the diagram program were utilized to search for the target peak position and determine the range of the characteristic absorption peaks of ethylene. The ethylene contents in the polypropylene copolymers were calculated by using the measuring system. The results showed that the ethylene contents calculated by the measuring system were closed to the data obtained by the traditional FTIR method. For the impact polypropylene copolymer,random polypropylene copolymer and polypropylene te rpolymer samples,the maximum relative error was-0.99%,1.69% and-3.55%, respectively. This measuring system was rapid and accurate. It can be used for quality monitoring during the production process of the polypropylene copolymers.关键词
