Pollutionand Potential Ecological Risk of Soil Heavy Metals Around the Coalfield of East Junggar Basin
摘要
Abstract
Soil samples were collected around the opencast coalfield of Junggar, six types of heavy metal content of each sample such as, Zn, Cu, Cr, Pb, Hg, As was measured, a multivariate statistical analysis, geo-accumulation (Igeo) index and ecological risk index (RI) was adopted in order to evaluate the pollution characteristics, pollution degree and potential ecological risks of the heavy metals in 4 different directions (northwest, northeast, southwest and southeast), aiming to provide supplement and perfection for regional Heavy Metal pollution of soil and offer a reference for ecological environment restoration of mining areas. The results indicated that the average contents of these six selected heavy metals of soil samples were all less than the Environmental Quality Standards of China (GB15618-1995), however the contents of Cr, Hg and As were 1.729, 3.706 and 2.844 times of soil element background values of Xinjiang. The sources of these heavy metals could be divided into three categories, the third component matrix of Pb was 0.945, might be originated from geological background. The second component matrix of Cd and Hg were 0.729 and 0.885 respectively, might be come from anthropogenic pollution. The first component matrix of Zn, Cu and As were 0.867, 0.892, 0.477, the source might be from a composite of human activities and natural background. The average content of Zn, Cu and Pb in each direction were less than zero, belongs to a degree of no pollution. The average value of Cr was 0.208, which is a "slightly-moderate" pollution. Hg values in three directions (northeast, southwest and southeast) were the above one, only in the northwest direction was 0.442, with an average value of 1.116, which indicates "moderate pollution" level. The value of As in the northeast direction was 1.103, in the other three directions was greater than 0 and less than 1, with average value of 0.919, which suggested "slightly-moderate" pollution. The order of potential ecological risk index (RI) of the four directions was SE > NE> SW > NW, the average ecological risk index was 176.122, which indicated a extent of "strong ecological hazard" .Studies showed that: potential ecological risk of heavy metals in the study area was relatively high, hence it is vital that one should strengthen the prevention and control measures of pollution; the study area has been contaminated by the heavy metals including, Cr, Hg, and As, among them the pollution degree of Hg was the highest, therefore we should focus our attention on prevention and treatment of it.关键词
