On Translating Humor of Xiangsheng from Perspective of Register Theory
摘要
Abstract
Xiangsheng, a traditional Chinese quyi form performed by one, two or more speakers and one of the outstanding rep-resentatives of Chinese culture, dating from Ming and Qing Dynasties, has been developed for hundreds of years in China.As eco-nomic globalization drives international arts and cultural exchanges, it is necessary to introduce Xiangsheng into the world stage.This thesis tries to study on the correct application of the register theory to translating humor of Xiangsheng through analyzing specific ex-amples from the perspectives of field, tenor and mode to achieve the ideational, interpersonal and textual equivalence, and also in-tends to propose three possible solutions to Xiangsheng humor translation, hoping the thesis will benefit the following study of Xiang-sheng translation.关键词
