Abstract
Letter f rom the Far East is a novel that reflects the life of Jews in China during World War II .The most attractive feature about it is its artistic form rather than the theme .Taking Xie Donghong's in‐vestigation of Reo as the main clue and the dual‐clue as the main structure ,it not only adds the documenta‐ry elements into the fiction to produce the authentic effects but also enables the author to be more flexible in reflecting life without the tedious and blunt description .The rich folk narrative also provides an actual background to the story of Reo's real rural life in China .关键词
