Abstract
Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of circulating of miR-21in peripheral blood in patients with gastric cancer. Methods Peripheral blood samples were col ected from 60 preoperative patients with gastric cancer and 15 healthy volunteers. Steploop real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the level of miR-21 . 60 serum samples were col ected from these patients 3 days after operation to examine the changes of miR-21 expression. Results The level of serum miR-21 in gastric cancer patients was significantly higher than those in health controls( ﹤0.01).The miR-21 level was associated with the lymph node metastasis, TNM stage( ﹤0.05, respectively), was not associated with age, sex or location of lesions ( > 0.05, respectively). The level of serum miR-21 significantly decreased after the operation compared with its preoperative level ( ﹤0.01).Conclusion Serum miR-21 is up-regulated in gastric cancer patients, suggesting its potential value for the diagnosis of gastric cancer.关键词
