Clinical Analysis of Elderly with Femoral Intertrochanteric Fractures Treated by Internal Fixation Using DHS Spiral Blade

Abstract
Objective This article presents preliminary findings of using Helical blade type DHS in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures of older people. Methods 27 Cases were col ected between April 2010 and May 2014. The older patients who diagnosed with femoral intertrochanteric fracture were applied the internal fixation with Helical blade type DHS. Eight month's post-surgery fol ow up was conducted and hip joint activity function was assessed based on the curative ef ect evaluation standard for older people which developed by Dr Dong Jiyuan. Results The range of fol ow up was 4 to 14 months. Al cases achieved to level of bone healing. Based on the assessment standards, 11 cases reach the level of 'excel ent', 11 cases achieved as 'good' and 2 cases reach to 'average' level. The rate of positive outcome was 92.6%. Conclusion Helical blade type DHS is one of more suitable surgical procedure for osteoporosis patients.关键词
