Abstract
Objective:To assess patents protection status of Shanghai health sector. Methods:The patents applied by Shanghai health sector from 1990 to 2012 in China were retrieved and the patent number,kinds,claim numbers,forward citations,life,transfer and their tendency with time were analyzed. Results:The number of patents application and authorization increased obviously,and the growth speeded up in recent years. The average patent claim numbers also increased. However,the share of invention patents showed a decreasing trend after the initial growth and percent of the patents with short life kept rising. Forward citations and the transfer rate of patents always maintained in low level. Conclusion:The protection of intellectual property in the Shanghai health sectors has made great progress. However,the low-quality patents also increased largely. In the future,it is suggested that the quality management be strengthened and invents be estimated before patent application. It is also suggested that the incentives for intellectual property be optimized to promote the comprehensive improvement of patent quantity and quality.关键词
