摘要
Abstract
Objective:To systematically evaluate the effectiveness of edaravone versus conventional treatment for vascular dementia ( VD).Methods:Systematic searches were conducted in SCI , PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library , CBM, CNKI, WanFang, and VIP databases, to collect all relative randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on edaravone versus conventional treating VD from inception to Oc-tober 2014.Two reviewers independently screened articles according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria , extracted data and evaluated the quality of included studies .Then statistical analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3.Results:A total of 10 RCTs involving 800 pa-tients were included. The results of meta-analysis demonstrated that compared with the conventional treatment , the edaravone group was statistical significant higher in the MMSE score ( MD=4.38 , 95% CI 3.74~5.03 , P<0.00001 ) , overall response rate ( OR=4.80 , 95%CI 2.63~8.76 ,P<0.00001 ) , the significant efficency ( OR=3.99 ,95% CI 2.28~7.01 ,P<0.00001 ) in the treatment of VD. Conclusion:Current evidence showed that edaravone promoted recovery of neurological function in VD patients and can be used for VD treatment. However, due to lack of enough high-quality studies, more strictly-designed, multicenter RCTs were needed in future studies .关键词
