Abstract
Objective:To study the effect of oral health indication on the therapy of middle-aged patients with periodontitis. Method:120 middle-aged patients with mild or moderate periodontitis,who came to Peking University Shenzhen Hospital for periodontal therapy from May 2010 to May 2011,were included and randomly divided to two groups. One was experimental group,the other was control group,and both groups contained 60 cases, respectively. During the procedure of periodontal therapy,nurses delivered oral health indication to the patients in experimental group. Probing depth and blood index were detected at the moments of first visit,one month,three months,six months and one year after therapy,respectively. Result:At first visit,there was no significant differences of PD and BI between the experimental group and the control group. In the experimental group,compared to the first visit,PD and BI were of significantly different after therapy,however,in the control group,significant differences of PD and BI could only be found in three mouths after therapy. Conclusion:As to achieve long-term effects of periodontal therapy,oral health indication should be emphasized and delivered to middle-aged patients with periodontitis by nurses.关键词
