摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of hyperbaric oxygenation ( HBO ) on preventing the steroid-induced avascular necrosis of the femoral head ( SANFH ) of mammals. Methods Distributing the 35 male Wistar rats into 3 groups: 5 rats for blank group, 15 rats for model group, and 15 rats for control group. The rats in the model group and the control group were injected the dexametha-sone sodium phosphate injection ( 10 mL/kg, 2 times/week ) in the abdominal cavity to built the model of SANFH. While establishing the rats model, the rats in the control group were given the HBO ( pressure:1. 8ATA, 1 time/day, 1 hour/time ) at the same time. And the blank group were injected normal saline. After 8 weeks, anteroposterior bilateral hip X-Ray examinations were performed in all of the rats. Then, executed them, took the femoral head out and the general observation and histological study were performed. Results There was no obvious abnormality in the results of the general observation and the X-Ray examinations. But there were visible differ-ences between model group and control group in the pathological sections. After stained with HE, the sections were observed under the light microscope: there were no focal osteonecrosis in the sections of the blank group and obvious focal osteonecrosis in the model group. And comparing with the model group, the osteocytes in the control group had a lighter damage. Conclusion HBO can prevent the damage of osteocytes during earlier period of SANFH.
