Abstract
Obejctive To analyze hearing outcomes of open mastoidectomy with tympanoplasty using ossicular pros⁃theses in patients with chronic otitis media. Methods Data from 78 patients who underwent open mastoidectomy with tympa⁃noplasty using ossicular prostheses were reviewed retrospectively. The average pure tone threshold before and after surgery was compared to assess the effect of ossicular prostheses. Results The hearing level in 52 of the 78 cases significantly im⁃proved, especially in those using partial ossicular prostheses. Conclusion Using ossicular prostheses in tympanoplasty fol⁃lowing open mastoidectomy can improve the hearing level in patients with chronic otitis media in whom surgical treatment is indicated.关键词
