Analysis of Sound Transmission Loss of Laminate Composite Plate Using Transfer Matrix Method

Abstract
The sound transmission loss formula of orthotropic composite laminate plates was introduced for different frequencies on the basis of transfer matrix method. An audio computation model of composite laminates was established, influence of some structural parameters such as laminate lay-out angle, plate thickness and density on transmission loss of the laminated plate was analyzed. The results show that there is no obvious linear relationship between density of composite laminates and sound transmission loss. The sound transmission loss increases with frequency increasing and the total thickness of the composite laminates increasing. Even the different thickness and lay-out angle of each laminate can cause the change of the sound transmission loss. With the use of the transfer matrix method, the effect of laying method, lay-out angle and some other factors of the composite laminates can be fully considered. Using the continuity condition of speed and stress in the interface of the laminates, the sound insulation property of the composite laminate plates can be accurately calculated.关键词
