摘要

Abstract

This paper studied how to widen the sound absorption bandwidth of microperforated panel (MPP) with porous materials. The MPP was chosen to absorb the low frequency noise, while the porous materials were selected to enhance the sound absorption effect in the middle and high frequency range. The methods of calculation and measurement of the sound absorption coefficient were presented. The measurement results had a good agreement with the prediction results. The comparison indicated that when the porous material is put in front of the MPP with an air gap between them, the sound absorbing characteristics of the MPP can be greatly improved.
