Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of age and abstinence time on sperm quality.Methods:The 395 infertile male patients asking for the 3rd affiliated hospital of guangxi medical university from June 2011 to June 2012 were set groups according to abstinence time and age,and the sperm paraments were analyzed to observe the effect of male age and different abstinence time on sperm concentration,mobility,normal morphology and DNA integrity.Results:Compared to age<40 groups,the sperm mobility of 40-45 group and 45-50 group was lower(P<0.05 or P<0.01),the rate of sperm damage rate was higher(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Compared to three abstinence time 2 to 7 day groups,the sperm concentration of abstinence time >7 day groups was higher(P<0.01),sperm mobility was lower(P<0.05),the rate of sperm DNA damage rate was higher(P<0.05).Conclusion:The increase of male age and abstinence time can lead to decrease of sperm mobility and increase of sperm DNA damage rate. When clinic evaluating of infertile sperm quality and fertility,different abstinence time and male age should be concerned.关键词
