摘要

Abstract

Channel error-correct coding is very important for underwater acoustic communication systems to improve their bit error rate performance.Combining channel decoder with adaptive decision feedback equalizer,this paper compares performance of an irregular LDPC code,(3,6 )-irregular LDPC code and a Turbo code over multipath shallow water acoustic channel.Computer simulations show that the three channel codes have almost the same per-formances at the short code length.However,the irregular LDPC code obtains much more performance improvement than the Turbo code and the regular LDPC code with the increase of code length.Performance of the irregular LDPC code is 0.23 and 0.33 dB better than that of the Turbo code and the regular code at the code length of 4000 and the bit error rate of 10 -4 .
