Abstract

In order to study the impact of decomposition of different biomass of Potamogeton crispus on the concentrations of the nutrient elements, i.e.carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in overlying water, Potamogeton crispus collected from Dongping Lake was killed and dried to a constant weight, and then put in beakers with ultrapure water according to the biomass gradient of 1, 5 and 10 g/L respectively.The beakers were respectively placed in incubators and kept at 25℃.The total carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in the overlying water were determined at the different time of the experiment, and the total and unit mass accumulative release amount of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus were calculated.The results show that in the decomposition process of Potamogeton crispus TC, TN and TP concentrations and their total accumulative release amount are all increased significantly with the biomass increasing, but the unit mass accumulative release amount of TC and TN under the biomass gradient of 1g/L is significantly higher than that under the other two biomass gradient.The ratios of carbon and nitrogen ( C/N) in overlying water under different biomass gradient are between 0.54 and 0.59 suggesting litter change with the time.Nitrogen has a relatively higher pollution load than that of phosphorus during the decomposition of different biomass of Potamogeton crispus.
