Changes in the Activity of Antioxidant Enzymes(CAT, POD, SOD) during the Dormancy of Nectarine Buds

摘要

Abstract

To investigate the dynamic changes of antioxidant enzymes including CAT, POD, and SOD that present in buds during dormancy and analyze the effects of three antioxidant enzymes treated by low temperature (5℃), higher temperature (20℃) with the nectarine Prunus persica var.nectarina cv. Shuguang as the test material. The results indicated that CAT activity was very low in earlier stage of dormancy and then rose quickly, it dropped sharply after the end of dormancy. POD activity of dormant bud was also low in earlier stage and then kept rising, it didn’t drop during the whole experimental period. SOD activity was high at earlier stage, then dropped to a low activity when the outdoor lower temperature came and maintained a very low level, it only rose slightly after the end of dormancy. The controlled constant low temperature at 5℃made CAT and POD activity rise, but that of SOD activity dropped. Constant high temperature at 20 ℃ dropped the CAT and POD activity but raised that of SOD activity.
