Evaluation Analysis of Quality of Life and Self-efficacy in Patients with Adult Symptomatic Epilepsy

Abstract
Objective:To assess the quality of life in adult symptomatic epilepsy and explore the correction between self-efficacy and quality of life in adult patients with symptomatic epilepsy.Method:A total of 112 patients with adult symptomatic epilepsy and 100 cases of healthy control admitted to our hospital from January 2011 to January 2015 were selected.The quality of life in epilepsy questionnaire,self-rating depression scale,chronic disease self-efficacy scale were used to assess the quality of life and self-efficacy in patients,the influencing factors and the relations between self-efficacy and quality of life were also evaluated.Result:The annual income of the adult symptomatic epilepsy group was significantly lower than that in healthy controls,there were no statistically significant differences in other selected baseline indicators (P>0.05).The scores of the quality of life questionnaire eight aspects in the adult symptomatic epilepsy group were significantly lower than those in the healthy control group,in the middle and lower levels,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).The self-rating depression scale score of adult symptomatic epilepsy group was (63.24±5.61) scores,which was significantly lower than (33.80±8.33) of the healthy control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The score of chronic disease self-efficacy scale of adult symptomatic epilepsy group was (6.70±1.27) scores,93.75% of the patients in the middle and above level,6.25% of patients in the lower level.The Estimation module analysis indicated that there were correlations between self-efficacy and the seizure worry,overall quality of life,emotional wellbeing,medication on effects and the overall health,there was statistical significance in the total score of life quality (P<0.05).Conclusion:The adult symptomatic epilepsy patients has low overall quality of life and low self-efficacy,self-efficacy has a wide correlation with quality of life in adult symptomatic epilepsy patients.关键词
