摘要

Abstract

In order to dissolve the problem of surplus sludge, sediment microbial fuel cell ( SMFC) was used to dispose surplus sludge in this paper.The electricity generation and the reduction of surplus sludge were analyzed in different conditions.After one period operation (60 d), the maximum power density reached to 9.45 W/m3 in the conditions of no aeration and no buffered solution addition.The performance of electricity generation can be improved by aeration and adding buffered solution.After one period closed circuit operation of SMFC, the TCOD, TSS and VSS removal efficiencies were significantly greater than the open circuit operation, and the removal efficiencies can be improved by adding oxide.SMFC can be used to reduce the amount of surplus sludge and produce the electricity simultaneously.
