Dietary Crude Protein and Metabolic Energy Requirements of Rugao Yellow Laying Hens Aged from 15 to 56 Days

摘要

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary crude protein ( CP) and metabolic energy ( ME) levels on growth performance and bone development in Rugao yellow laying hens aged from 15 to 56 days. Two thousand and seven hundred 14-day-old Rugao yellow laying hens with a similar body weight were assigned to 15 groups with 6 replicates per group and 30 hens per replicate. This experiment took a 3 × 5 factorial design with 3 CP levels (17.50%, 19.00% and 20.50%) and 5 ME levels (11.11, 11.51, 11.92, 12.34 and 12.78 MJ/kg) . The trial period lasted for 42 d ( from 15 to 56 days of age) . The results showed as follows:1) the body weight at 35 and 56 days of age was significantly affected by dietary CP and ME levels (P<0.05), and the interaction between them was significantly (P<0.05). 2) The average daily weight gain ( ADG) and the ratio of feed to gain ( F/G) of hens aged from 15 to 35 and 15 to 56 days were significantly affected by dietary CP and ME levels ( P<0.05) , and the average daily feed intake ( ADFI) of hens aged from 15 to 35, 36 to 56 and 15 to 56 days was significantly affected by dietary ME level ( P<0.05) . Significant in-teraction was found between effects of dietary CP and ME levels in ADG of hens aged from 15 to 35 and 15 to 56 days ( P<0.05) , but no significant interaction was found in ADG of hens aged from 35 to 56 days and AD-FI and F/G during every period ( P>0.05) . 3) The shank circumference and the length and weight of tibia and femur of hens at 56 days of age were significantly affected by dietary CP level (P<0.05), and the shank length, shank circumference and the length of tibia and femur were significantly affected by dietary ME level ( P<0.05) . Significant interaction was found between effects of dietary CP and ME levels in shank length at 56 days of age, but no significant interaction was found in the length and weight of tibia and femur ( P>0.05) . In conclusion, with indexes of growth performance and bone development, the appropriate dietary CP and ME levels for Rugao yellow laying hens aged from 15 to 56 days are 19. 00% and 12. 78 MJ/kg, respectively.
