摘要

Abstract

ATA(Advanced Technology Attachment)is a kind of stable and high performance data transmission mode. The traditional controller can not meet the need of the of data storage for low cost and embeddability and personality. It also depend on the CPU for function of access to data and control mode. The UltraDMA data transmission process of ATA protocol was studied and the work principle and process of host controller was extracted. VHDL was used to program in ISE development environment. A not CPU-controlled UltraDMA read/write controller is realized based on FPGA. Through simulation,the UltraDMA controller can read/write data on hard-disk with high-speed. The sys⁃tem is also low cost,high speed and secure.
