Capital Intensive Investment Preference,Urbanization Development and Urban-rural Income Gap

Abstract
The paper explores how the factors,such as the capital intensive investment preferences,influence on the income gap between urban and rural areas from the theoretical level,and then applies the method of panel static and dynamic estimation to carry out an empirical test of the theoretical model by using the provincial panel data from 2005 to 2012.The results show that,although the advance of urbanization helps to narrow the income gap,the capital intensive preference deteriorates the Chinese income gap between urban and rural areas significantly.To a great extent,it weakens the advance of urbanization,the contributions of increasing the level of opening and promoting the human capital to narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas.Therefore,in order to realize the coordinated development of urban and rural areas greatly,China need correct previous capital-intensive investment tendency,which in a certain degree, has reference values to the policy choice of reducing the income gap between urban and rural areas.关键词
