Abstract

Objective:To explore the characteristics and relationship between vocational interest ,work values and job satisfaction of starting psychological teacher ,and provide reference for schools and teachers of two -way choice for psychological teacher .Methods :A total of 69 teachers were investigated by Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) ,Work values Inventory (WVI)and Holland's Vocational Interest Test(HLD) .Results:①For job satisfaction , intrinsic satisfaction score which was less than or equal to 2 points represented the least satisfied and dissatisfied ,and the number of this category was 0 ;The score which was between 2 -4 points represented the uncertainty between satisfaction and dissatisfaction among the subjects ,accounting for 69 6.% .The score which was more than 4 points represented satisfactory or very satisfactory ,accounting for 30 4.% of the subjects .For the external satisfaction ,3%of the subjects were not satisfied ,88 5.% of the subjects were uncertain ,only 7 2.% subjects were satisfied .②Voca-tional interests ranked in the top three in turn were the realistic type ,social type and art type .③Work values ranked in the top three in turn were a sense of achievement ,interpersonal relationship and altruism .④The correlation analy-sis showed that the score of intrinsic satisfaction ,the score of social type(r=0 2.9 ,P<0 0.5) and management type (r=0 3.4 ,P<0 0.1)were positively correlated :The score of external satisfaction and the score of social type (r=0 4.3 ,P<0 0.1 ) and management type(r=0 4.2 ,P<0 0.1 ) were positively correlated .⑤Positive correlations were observed between the score of intrinsic satisfaction and the score of altruism (r=0 4.6 ,P<0 0.1 ) ,beauty(r=0 3.5 ,P<0 0.1) ,intellectual stimulation(r=0 3.9 ,P<0 0.1) ,sense of achievement(r=0 3.1 ,P< 0 0.5 ) ,independence(r=0 2.7 ,P<0 0.5 ) ,social status (r=0 3.0 ,P<0 0.5) ,social communication (r=0 2.9 ,P<0 0.5 )and interpersonal(r=0 3.5 ,P<0 0.1 ) .The external satisfaction score was positively correlated only with altruism (r=0 2.5 ,P<0 0.5 ) .⑥According to the stepwise regression analysis ,it was found that :Altruism predict intrinsic satisfaction ,vocational in-terest in social and management type predicted external satisfaction (P<0 0.1 for all) .Conclusion:Vocational interest and work values will affect job satisfaction ,which shows that teachers who will transfer to psychological teachers should refer to the test scores of vocational interest and work values before the work transferring .
