Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of a body -mind-spirit workshop in the enhancement of holis-tic well -being among college students .The workshop lasted for 2 days .Apart from preparing participants to cope with negative events ,the workshops aimed at enhancing holistic well -being through promoting inner strength , mindfulness ,love ,and a sense of forgiveness .Methods :Participants of the workshop were Hong Kong college students(n=42 ,60% were females) .A pre-and post -test comparison group design was adopted .A standardized inventory on holistic well -being was used as an outcome measure to evaluate the effectiveness of the workshop .Re-sults:Significant enhancement in equanimity (nonattachment ,mindfulness ,general vitality ,spiritual self -care)[F(1 , 91)=15 5.1~21 .64 ,P< 0 0.01] ,and reduction of emotional affliction (emotional vulnerability ,irritability ,spiritual disorientation)were demonstrated[F(1 ,91)=4 4.9~38 6.4 ,P<0 0.5 ,001] .Conclusion:The integrative body -mind-spirit workshop is effective in promoting holistic well -being among college students who are at the stage of emer-ging adulthood .With holistic well -being being enhanced ,greater resilience in coping with future life stress will be expected .关键词
