Abstract
Objective To observe and examine the effect of nursing intervention on the improvement of blood pressure and self-management ability of elderly hypertensive patients (EHP).Method The effect of conventional care for the control group (n=100) and the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention for the experimental group (n=68) on the diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) of the EHP were firstly observed and compared .The cases of complication and the self-management abilities of the two groups were then examined .Findings After the intervention , the SBP and DBP of both groups were significantly improved as compared with before the intervention .The improvement in the experimental group was more significant (P<0.05).The experimental group developed better self-management ability and had fewer cases of complication than the control group .The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nursing intervention can improve EHP's blood pressure, enhance their self-management ability and reduce complications.关键词
