Wei Shan Xian Lu·Artistic Conception of Rockery Stacking in Chinese Southern Private Gardens
摘要
Abstract
As the primary essential of gardening among Chinese traditional gardens, stacking rockery lay emphasis on the creation of artistic conception. Taking the rockery stacking practice caled “Wei Shan Xian Lu” which derived from Yuan Ye as the breakthrough point, the article explores its origin, definition and the cause of formation. Combined with several outstanding cases of rockery stacking which exist in ancient and contemporary architecture works, the article atempts to elaborate spiritual and cultural content of “Wei Shan Xian Lu”, so as to reveal the landscaping essence and cultural connotation about how to achieve infinite artistic conception with finite space in the southern gardens.关键词
