Abstract

Objective To investigate the drug resistance and genotype of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE)in Kunming. Methods 77 CRE isolates were collected from January 2009 to December 2012.Their carbapenemase phenotypes were detected by modified Hodge test and screened metallo-B-lactamase positive strains by EDTA disc synergy test.The blaNDM-1 ,blaKPC,blaIMP and blaVIM genes of carbapenemase were detected by PCR,then the obtained PCR products were performed DNA sequencing. Results 75.32 percentage of CRE isolates were identified to be Klebsiella pneumoniae,and most of CRE are multi-drug resistant bacteria.The positive results of CRE isolates in the modified Hodge test and EDTA disc synergy test were 55 and 15 isolates respectively.The blaKPC gene was identified from 45 isolates by PCR,9 blaNDM isolates and 4 blaIMP gene isolates were detected.IMP-4 and KPC-2 isolates was identified by DNA sequencing.The target gene of 18 CRE isolates were not detected. Conclusion The KPC-2 and NDM-1 were the major genotypes of carbapenemase in Kunming hospital. It was important that drug resistance surveillance of CRE isolates.Target gene of 18 isolates were not detected,so their drug resistance mechanism should be further experimental study.
