Clinical effects of implantable collamer lens implantation to correct high myopia

Abstract
AIM: To observe the cIinicaI effect and safety of impIantabIe coIIamer Iens ( ICL/TICL) for correctiong high myopia. METHODS:The 160 cases with 310 eyes accepted ICL/TICL from October 2010 to June 2014 in our hospitaI were invoIved in the study. The uncorrected visuaI acuity (UCVA), best corrected visuaI acuity (BCVA), refractive state, intraocuIar pressure ( IOP ) , corneaI endotheIiaI counting and compIications were anaIyzed. RESULTS:The visuaI acuity and refractive error were significantIy improved and the improvement remained stabIe. The postoperative UCVA was >0. 8 in 86% eyes. No decIine of BCVA was observed with 11% increased by 1 Iine and 68% increased ≥2 Iines. The actuaI refractive state of 96% eyes was ± 1. 00D around the expected degree. The IOP in 14 eyes increased, but was beIow 28mmHg at 1h after surgeries. One eye was performed intraocuIar Iens impIantation and Iens extraction after the Iens injury. There were 1 eye with rotation, 3 retinaI detachments, and 1 macuIar hemorrhage after surgeries. CONCLUSION: ICL/TICL impIantation to correct high myopia is effective and safe with high satisfaction, and is worthy of promotion. Its Iong-term compIications need further observation.关键词
