Preparation and application of Co/SBA-15 catalyst for degradation of methylene blue

Abstract
Co/SBA-15 catalyst was prepared through direct synthesis and was characterized by means of XRD,XPS,TEM and N2adsorption-desorption. The results indicated that the Co/SBA-15 catalyst kept the typical mesoprous structure of the SBA-15 support. The pore distribution on the catalyst was uniform with average pore diameter of 3.44 nm,specific surface area of 475.33 m2/g and pore volume of 0.27 cm3/g. The effects of catalyst dosage,NaHCO3 concentration,H2O2 concentration and pH of the system on the catalytic degradation of methylene blue were investigated. The mechanism of the catalytic degradation was studied. The results showed that the degradation rate of methylene blue could reach 86.48% under the conditions of methylene blue with the concentration of 25 mg/L 50 mL,pH 9,NaHCO3 concentration 10 mmol/L,H2O2 concentration 30 mmol/L, catalyst dosage 0.015 g,35℃ and 2 h. In the Co+NaHCO3+H2O2 solution system,carbonate free radicals generated on the Co/SBA-15 catalyst and then active oxygen free radicals formed,which led to the improvement of the degradation of methylene blue.关键词
