Abstract
Objective To evaluate the value of serum CA125 and its half-life as amarker in monitoring the response to treatment and prognosis of advanced ovary cancer.Methods ELISA was used to detect the levels of serum CA125 and its half-life in 45 patients with ovary benign tumor and 50 ovary cancer. Results The serum CA125 levels in advanced ovary cancer patients were significantly higher than that of ovary benign tumor patients, <0.01.Using 65u/ml of the cut-of value for malignant ovarian cancer tumor,the sensitivity and specificity are above 90%. The serum CA125 level descending in size of residual foci above 2cm were significantly higher than that in size of residual foci below 2cm. The mean recur ence of patients was 36.4 ±9.72 in CA125 half-life above 20 days, was 14.33±9.72 in CA125 half-life below 20 day,respectively.The 2 patients of the serum CA125>65u/ml have foci whose diameter is 3cm or 4cm. When CA125 levels between 35 and 65 u/ml,there were 4 patients whose foci were 1cm,2cm,2cm and 3cm, another 2 patients was negative in second-look.Conclusion This suggested serum CA125 levels and its half-life had more reliable value. If used clinical y, it may help to estimate of recur ence of ovarian cancer in time so as to take corresponding treating measures early.关键词
