摘要
Abstract
Evidence-based practice is fundamentally asking a question about treatment for a specific individual and looking for an answer in the research literature. In audiology, multiple peer-reviewed journals publishing research evidence can provide answers for clinicians regarding amplification recommendations. We also see well designed studies being published in non-peer-reviewed journals when authors want information to get out quickly which is often the case with currently available hearing aid signal processing. Whether in a peer-reviewed journal or a trade publication, the reader is responsible for judging the quality of the work and its potential relationship to a patient. The key to successful evidence-based practice is learning to efficiently search the current literature and read identified research with a critical eye for detail and application to clinical patients.关键词
