摘要

Abstract

To solve the traffic congestion in the merging area of mainline and on-ramp during peak periods, a novel coordination control method was present in this paper.Based on the analysis of the time space of freeway traffic flow operating, an improved macroscopic traffic flow model was adopted to describe the traffic characters under variable speed limits control.Then an optimal control model with the goal of maximum traffic efficiency and minimum delay , considering mainline traffic flow control and on-ramp metering, was established.The simulation results show that the coordination control method presented in this paper can improve the traffic order and the promote of the level of service.
